1. Is www.gogreenbag.com using eco-friendly shipping methods?

Answer: Yes, we use TYVEK shipping envelopes where possible to eliminate excess packaging and to keep the package lightweight. TYVEK is also recyclable. We also recycle or re-use shipping boxes whenever possible.

2. Can I get custom bags with my company or fundraiser logo?

Answer: Absolutely. Email us at info@gogreenbag.com for a free quote. The minimum order for custom bags is 250 however we can provide you with wholesale prices on bag quantities as low as 50.

3. Why don't all grocery stores carry reusable bags?

Answer: Unfortunately it's common practice for grocery stores and retail stores to buy disposable plastic bags, however in the long run selling reusable bags at the checkout counter becomes much more profitable since the disposable bags are given away for free.

4. What are your shipping prices?

Answer: Our shipping rates are based on the most current USPS shipping scale. Typical orders range from $3-$5 for shipping. Larger orders can range from $10-$25. We make every effort to offer you inexpensive shipping, because we want you to use our bag and not have to pay a lot of money to get them.

5. Are there any other bag types available?

Answer: We offer the most popular bag types, however we can also get just about any size shape and color made custom for you.

6. Why are disposable plastic bags so bad?

Answer: Disposable plastic bags take a very long time to biodegrade, especially if they are not exposed to sunlight. The plastic bags you throw away today will likely be around for the next 400 years. Also most plastics are manufactured from petroleum and billions of tons of fossil fuels are consumed each year to make plastic bags.

7. Is all plastic bad?

Answer: Plastic has many useful qualities however, Since non-biodegradable plastic has an extremely long lifesycle, nearly every bit of plastic ever made is still in the environment and will continue to pollute our oceans and terra firma for hundreds of years.

8. This plastic thing is a big problem, what can I do to help?

Answer: Recycle, Recycle and Recycle some more. Try to eliminate your use of plastic whenever possible. Support the plastic bag ban and donate money to environmental clean-up agencies. Then teach your friends and family about the importance of recycling.

9. Wait, aren't Green Bags made from plastic too?

Answer: Yes Green Bags are made from non-woven polypropylene (a plastic). Fortunately Green Bags are #5 recyclable and have a useful lifespan of about 2-3 years and in that time period they can replace hundreds of disposable plastic bags. It is up to us to dispose of the used Green Bags by properly recycling them.

10. Will Green Bags fix the problem with all this plastic waste?

Answer: No but it's a good start. Green Bags will not save the world, they are a way for people to transition from our "throw-away" habits and start learning to reuse. The Green Bag is the inexpensive alternative to cotton, jute and hemp bags that everyone can afford. When your done with your Green Bag we ask that you please recycle it. Also we encourage everyone to bring any type of reusable bag while shopping.

11. Why not just use paper bags, they breakdown in the environment don't they?

Answer: Yes paper does breakdown, however the manufacturing process, not only kills the number of trees that help replenish our vital oxygen supply, but also uses millions of gallons of water.

12. So what is the solution to our waste problem?

Answer: Reusing, Conserving, Educating and Recycling. We all need to break those wasefull bad habits and learn to be more environmentally freindly. That means keeping a couple of recycling bins in your basement for glass, plastic, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, and metals for starters.
